No that wasn’t a typo, they mention the word guarantee so often it starts to lose meaning. And when they don’t mention exactly what is involved in the “guarantee” it doesn’t have any meaning. It’s simply a way of making people think the Atkins diet product works.
Another diet is the VLCD or Very Low Calorie Diet. They work, and studies prove it. The problem is they are often sold to people for home use to drop a few pounds. That’s a problem because of their nature. VLCD’s are extreme diets designed for seriously overweight people. These diets often have people eat half or less of their daily caloric intake. They’re designed to be implemented in medically supervised closed settings, where people can’t cheat. When used outside of a closed setting, often a clinic called a “fat farm,” these diets can be dangerous to the dieters health and will generally not work because of binge eating after a period of partial starvation.
Atkins diet free plan, do work, but can create a number of problems with the body if not supervised and given advice by a doctor. Painful Gallstones develop in up to 25% of people who lose large amounts of weight over a few months. Careless dieters can often become dehydrated because they don’t realize a large portion of the water people need to drink comes from foods. It’s easy to compensate for this by drinking more water. Malnutrition can develop from not eating enough protein over a long period of time. The body can even become unable to process protein, which leads to serious illness and even death.

And that’s not a good thing.
Think about it. Olympic all time hero, Mark Phelps, will be remembered forever. Those who finished second, the “losers”, have already been forgotten.
No matter the season of year, some sports playoffs are beginning somewhere. The “winners” get to stay and play. “Losers” get to go home and re-live their mistakes.
When Winter approaches here in South Carolina, the competition for the few remaining seeds and berries in our feeders gets serious. The “winners” spend their days, and nights, with full bellies. The “losers” make do with whatever scraps hit the ground. (Always a less than satisfying diet)
Losing is NOTgenerally a good thing. Mind and body very actively resist loss…in any form.
DIETING “losers”, approaching a smorgasbord buffet, will see all the things that they must avoid; then pull out their calorie counting books and calculators to determine what, if anything, is “allowed” by their usually less than two week old “new, MIRACLE DIET’s” restrictions. They walk away feeling miserably deprived and hungry.
several weeks of feeling deprived is about all the mind and body will allow. Enter: The binge stage. Miracle DIET is out the window. Within a few days, any weight “lost” will be regained–probably with a couple extra “insurance pounds”. That’s why they are called “YO-YO DIETS”.
Winning dieters approach the same bountiful table and, if they are at all hungry, know that the diet they have been on since birth “allows”–actually encourages, “a little of this…and a little of that”. Hunger satisfied, they move on to some other pleasantness, feeling fully satisfied.
The intermittent CAPITALIZATION in this writing is intentional.
DIET refers to some artificially imposed “system for weight loss”. The various DIETS are for “losers”.
A diet, used in it’s original meaning, is simply “the sum total of what we eat”. By making a few, pleasant adjustments to a diet and lifestyle, it’s actually pretty easy to achieve (TO WIN) whatever weight goal is set–even if that goal is to gain weight.
Gaining weight is simply not a problem for most of the world’s population–over half of whom are currently overweight. So you see, we are not alone. Most of the people in the world could benefit from making those few, pleasant adjustments to their current diet and lifestyle.

It’s important for teens to realize that this is especially common during puberty, and for the few years after. If you gain weight check out the rest of your body—are you going through a growth spurt in height as well? Remembering that muscle to fat ratio is also a factor: don’t worry about gaining weight when you are lifting at the gym. As you tone your muscles, you will look better, but because muscles are heavier than fat, you may actually gain weight!
Social Comments Are Just Rude..
Lastly, you don’t need to lose weight simply because someone else makes a rude comment about your looks. People can be cruel, and everyone has a different body make up. You can’t be part of every social groups idea of body image. If you are happy with your weight and it is within the normal range for someone of your age and height, then chances are that the rude comment is just a wrong idea someone has, and not a sign you actually do need to lose weight.
At the end of the day, everyone wants to be happy: be happy with yourself and eat a healthy diet; and you shouldn’t need to worry about losing weight.
