(There was no doubt about it.~I couldn’t deny it any longer~It was a fact that was very obvious.} I was in terrible shape. I was grossly overweight, and the problems that the weight caused were becoming more obvious. My health problems included diabetes and high blood pressure not to mention back and joint pain. Blame for my poor health was mainly caused by the excess weight I was carrying. To put it simply I was eating myself to death.
I could look in the mirror and see the problem. It was clear to me what the problem was, but how could I solve the problem? The issues I was facing had taken a long time to develop, but time wasn’t my friend as I tried to solve the issues. I was lost and didn’t know where to turn when I went searching on the internet and found something called the biggest loser forum, where there were chat rooms full of people who were fighting a weight loss battle of their own. I was able to find the support of others and began looking into ways that I could get healthier. I was able to find a lot of information about the different ways to lose weight. After that I made the decision that now was the time to do something about it.
I sought the advice of a medical professional. He had several recommendations about what I should and should not do. There was no argument that it was imperative for me to begin a fitness regimen before it was too late. The first approach that I was going to take was the oldest one out there, control what I eat and start a workout plan to use more energy than I took in. I stuck to the diet despite my cravings for all the foods that I was not allowed to eat any more, and I did my exercises faithfully every day, even the six pack ab exercises, that were on the video I had found in the attic. I wished it was different, but the weight was not disappearing even when I did everything I was supposed to. After six months I had not lost a significant amount of weight and I was getting discouraged. I was looking for a plan that would work, but I didn’t know where to turn to find one.
I went back to my doctor and told him it was time for me to find a way to learn how to lose weight fast, and what would he suggest that I try next to accomplish this goal since I had run out of ideas. My doctor agreed that the diet and exercise program did not work. His next idea was gastric bypass surgery. He said this would only allow me to eat small amounts of food at a time. I knew that this type of drastic measure was filled with peril. But I knew that I could not sit back any longer and ignore the problem that I had. There was no more time for me to sit back and do nothing about my weight issues. Since I was not the only one who was going to be affected by the surgery, I include my wife and children in the discussion of the surgery.
The day finally came when I went to the hospital to try to change my life. There were no complications to report by the doctor and I was sent home shortly. It took several weeks to start my recovery. During that time I could hardly eat anything. I started a fitness regimen as soon as I felt strong enough to do it. I was determined to make this work. And it was working. I was watching the fat melt off of my body. Twelve months after the operation my weight loss surpassed the century mark. I kept up the average of over ten pounds a month through my second anniversary of the surgery. People could no call me fat anymore because I didn’t have a belly that got to a door two minutes before the rest of my body. I decreased the amount of medication that I had to take just to take care of the problems that had been caused by my weight. I am no longer working out by myself, I have been joined by other people that I love. I have taken back my life from the monster that obesity is, and I look forward to never having to face it again.
