All of us need to eat healthy to stay healthy. Your health will change with the way you eat and how you live life. And everybody should be eating a balanced diet. You need carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins and minerals to have a balanced diet. It must contain all these things in correct proportions.
The following guidelines to healthy eating will help you to plan a healthier eating regime which in turn will help you lead a better life.
1) Eat your meals regularly.: Try planning your meals for the week ahead. You need to make sure that you are getting enough nutrients from the different foods you eat. By skipping meals you can actually put on weight and your body will have too little energy. You should have three meals and two snacks each day. It helps if you eat them at the same time each day.
2) variety Is Key: A balanced diet will include a variety of different foods. If you only eat a handful of foods, you body will not receive the amount of nutrients it needs.
3) Don’t Deny: Unless you have an allergy or intolerance, you should not ban anything from your diet. This will only make you want it more. If you friend orders a big muffin to go with their coffee, do the same if you want one. Don’t worry about your thighs or cholesterol after one muffin, so long as it is not an everyday treat you will be fine. After a healthy meal, if you want something sweet then have a small portion of cake or a cookie, it does not mean you are eating badly.
4) Cut Back On Sugar: If you feel like having something sweet try avoiding it as much as you can, sugar deteriorates the level of energy in your body. Opt instead for a high protein snack or some fruit. But remember that you can have the odd muffin without damaging effects.
5) Drink Lots Of Water: When it comes to your health, water is important. You should drink a steady supply of water throughout the day, every day. Drink more water as compared to fresh juices and fizzy drinks.
6) Avoid Bad Fats: Avoid eating high fat food such as butter, margarine, potato chips, fried food and junk food. The amount of fat in them makes these foods bad for your heart and blood pressure. However you can choose fats that are healthy for your heart such as salads, nuts, olives, avocados and vegetable oil.
